Terms of Use
Last updated: 03/09/2026
Welcome to CampusLoop, operated by CampusLoop LLC ("CampusLoop," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CampusLoop website, mobile experience, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies or guidelines we may post for specific features of the Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher, to use the Service.
- CampusLoop is designed for college and university students. We may require you to verify your status using a valid .edu email address or other proof of enrollment or affiliation.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep that information updated.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You agree to notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in behavior that is unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful to the community or the Service.
2. Campus-Only Marketplace
CampusLoop is a peer-to-peer marketplace where students can buy and sell items with other students on the same campus. Examples may include textbooks, electronics, dorm furniture, clothing, and other everyday items.
- You may only list items that you own or have the legal right to sell.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listings, the condition of your items, and your communications with other users.
- CampusLoop does not take possession of items listed on the platform and does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, availability, or accuracy of any listing.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing listings, communicating with other users, arranging meetups, and deciding whether and how to complete a transaction.
Prohibited items and uses
You agree not to list, buy, sell, promote, or request prohibited items or services, including but not limited to:
- Weapons, firearm parts, ammunition, or explosives.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, or prescription medication.
- Stolen property, counterfeit goods, or fraudulent items.
- Hazardous materials, chemicals, recalled products, or unsafe goods.
- Alcohol, nicotine, vape products, or age-restricted items where prohibited by law or school policy.
- Adult sexual services, explicit content, or unlawful services.
- Fake documents, academic dishonesty services, or anything that violates school policy.
- Tickets, financial products, or other regulated items where restricted by law, venue policy, or campus policy.
- Any item or service banned by applicable law or your school’s policies.
3. Paid Features, Subscriptions, and Virtual Items
CampusLoop may offer optional paid features, including but not limited to: (a) listing boosts or featured placements (each a "Boost"), and (b) subscription plans such as Pro Seller or other seller plans (each a "Subscription"). Together we call these "Paid Features."
3.1 License Only – No Ownership
When you purchase any Paid Feature, you are purchasing a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use that feature within the Service. You do not own the feature or any underlying rights. Paid Features:
- have no independent cash value;
- are not legal tender and are not redeemable for cash;
- may not be sold, traded, gifted, or transferred to another user or account without our written permission; and
- may be revoked, modified, or discontinued by us as described in these Terms.
3.2 Boosts and Featured Listings
A Boost is a time-limited promotional placement that may cause your listing to appear more prominently to users at your campus. You acknowledge and agree that:
- A Boost does not guarantee a sale, a specific number of views, messages, or any particular level of engagement.
- The visibility and performance of a Boost may depend on factors such as user activity, ranking systems, timing, and competing listings.
- Once a Boost begins, it cannot be paused, refunded, or transferred, except where required by law.
3.3 Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
Some Paid Features are offered on a recurring subscription basis. Unless otherwise stated at checkout:
- By starting a Subscription, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price using the payment method on file.
- You can cancel your Subscription in your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals but generally does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
- We may change Subscription features, pricing, or eligibility requirements from time to time. If we make material changes that negatively affect your current Subscription, we will provide notice where reasonably possible.
3.4 Payments, Fees, and Taxes
Payment processing for Paid Features is handled by third-party providers such as Stripe. By purchasing Paid Features, you also agree to the applicable terms and privacy policies of those providers.
- Fees for Subscriptions, Boosts, or other Paid Features are displayed at the time of purchase and are generally non-refundable.
- Taxes and other charges may be added where applicable. You authorize CampusLoop and our payment providers to charge your selected payment method for the full amount due, including any applicable taxes.
- We may change our pricing or introduce new fees from time to time. Unless otherwise stated, changes apply prospectively.
3.5 Refunds and Chargebacks
Except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise:
- All purchases of Paid Features are final and non-refundable.
- We may, at our sole discretion, provide credits, extensions, or partial refunds in limited situations as a courtesy, but this does not create an obligation to do so in the future.
- If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, we may suspend or terminate your access to Paid Features and/or your account while the dispute is under review.
3.6 Platform Changes and Discontinuation
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any Paid Feature at any time for security, technical, legal, or business reasons. If we permanently discontinue a Paid Feature that you have already paid for and not yet fully received, we may, at our discretion:
- Provide an alternative benefit of reasonably comparable value;
- Provide a pro-rated credit to your CampusLoop account; or
- Offer another reasonable form of compensation,
in each case subject to applicable law.
3.7 Misuse, Fraud, and Policy Violations
We may restrict, revoke, or terminate your access to Paid Features without refund if we reasonably believe that:
- You violated these Terms, our Privacy Policy, or other CampusLoop policies;
- Your purchase or use of Paid Features involves fraud, abuse, or suspicious activity; or
- Your account has been flagged or suspended for safety, integrity, or legal reasons.
4. User Conduct, Safety, and Reporting
You agree to use the Service in a respectful, honest, and lawful manner. In particular, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse other users.
- Engage in hate speech, discriminatory conduct, or targeted harassment.
- Misrepresent your identity, your school affiliation, or the condition, ownership, authenticity, or value of items you list.
- Use the Service for fraud, money laundering, scams, or other illegal purposes.
- Attempt to bypass security measures, access accounts or systems without authorization, scrape the Service without permission, or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
- Post content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
When meeting in person to complete a transaction, you are solely responsible for your own safety. CampusLoop does not control, supervise, or guarantee in-person meetups. We encourage users to meet in well-lit, public campus locations and follow the guidance on our Safety page.
We may review, remove, restrict, or disable listings, content, messages, or accounts that we believe violate these Terms, our policies, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of the platform.
5. CampusLoop's Role
CampusLoop provides a platform that allows buyers and sellers to connect. We are not a party to the actual transactions between users.
- We do not guarantee any user's identity or the quality, safety, legality, authenticity, or availability of items listed.
- We do not oversee payment terms, product inspection, or delivery arrangements between users, except for any optional payment or billing tools we may offer directly.
- You are solely responsible for evaluating and completing any transaction, including arranging safe meetups and verifying items before purchase.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampusLoop is not liable for disputes, damages, or losses arising from interactions or transactions between users.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the photos, descriptions, and other content you upload to CampusLoop ("User Content"), but you grant us a limited license to use that content to operate, improve, and promote the Service.
- By posting User Content, you grant CampusLoop a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, host, store, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.
- You represent that you have all rights necessary to post your User Content and that it does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party.
- We may remove or modify User Content that we believe violates these Terms, our policies, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of the Service.
The Service and all content, trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property owned by CampusLoop or our licensors are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted in these Terms.
Intellectual property complaints
If you believe content on CampusLoop infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, contact us at support@campusloopapp.com with enough detail for us to review the complaint.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for us or other users, or otherwise harmed the safety or integrity of the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request closure of your account, subject to any necessary retention of data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, intellectual property, payment obligations, and dispute provisions, will remain in effect.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information or content obtained through the Service will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampusLoop LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from or relating to:
- Your access to or use of, or inability to use, the Service;
- Any conduct, listing, message, or content of other users or third parties on or through the Service;
- Any transaction or attempted transaction between users;
- Any content or information obtained from the Service; or
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions, content, or account.
In no event will our total liability for all claims relating to the Service exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to CampusLoop, if any, for Paid Features in the six (6) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of them.
